DOGtober 2017: Day 13

Starting in two days on Oct. 15, dogs are welcomed at these four  Walt Disney World Hotels:

  • Art of Animation Resort $50/night
  • Port Orleans Riverside Resort $50/night
  • Yacht Club Resort $75/night
  • Cabins at Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort $50/night

Guests are allowed a maximum of two dogs per room, and each guest will have access to pet walkways for exercise and green spaces with pet relief areas. During the dog lovers check in our furry friends will receive a Plutos Welcome Kit that includes:

  • A mat
  • Bowls
  • Pet ID tag
  • Plastic disposable bags
  • Puppy pads
  • Pluto’s “Do Not Disturb” sign to notify the staff that a pet is in the room.

Disney also has a partnership with Best Friends Petcare which is an on property full-service pet facility that assists with pet daycare and other pet services (fees apply). Pets will be allowed to stay in guests rooms but expected to be well behaved, on a leash in public resort areas and of course adequately vaccinated. Also, pet merchandise will soon be coming to the participating resorts!

Not being able to have a dog-friendly hotel was my only complaint about visiting WDW, and now I can go more often and not have to find a babysitter for my little love bugs because they will be with me in my hotel room! They have already experienced five years of Disneyland trips and now get to enjoy all of our WDW trips too! What are your thoughts about this new change? Let me know in the comments below!

DOGtober 2017: Day 12

Tarzan is doing great! So far. Some of the things that I have to look for is bleeding in the gums, he’s not going to the bathroom regularly and making sure there isn’t any redness and swelling or discharge.Thankfully, he has been eating, drinking and going to the bathroom perfectly fine. Everything looks PERFECT!

Since he is not supposed to exert a lot of energy we have literally been taking it super easy and relaxing. The one thing I did notice that was strange, was his sister Belle. She has always been glued to his side and always sitting on his head (weird sibling thing). To be honest, I am a little worried but not fully because I think she found a little independence which is great but it is kind of sad if she if she is avoiding him because she is scared of him. I guess I will keep an eye on those two and see how it plays out.

DOGtober 2017: Day 11

Day one of Tarzan’s return is complete. He slept through the night perfectly fine, which although I didn’t get any sleep because I wanted to make sure he was going to be ok and still breathing (worry wart) any little move, sneeze or breathe he took I was up and making sure he was ok. This is also his full first day of being on the antibiotics he takes 0.5ml twice a day every 12 hours.

Basically once I wake up and the other when we go to bed, Since he had surgery on his mouth and is required to be on a liquid diet I made sure to grind up some dog food and let it soak up in hot water twice a day so he can eat. All in all, he recovering amazingly!

DOGtober 2017: Day 10

Today was a very stressful day, but I am so happy that my little guy is home and healthy as ever! I called the vet to check in on Tarzan at 1pm to make sure that he was ok, and thankfully it was. I picked him up at 3pm and boy was I happy to see he was pretty much himself. The vets went over the aftercare and the antibiotics with me. So for 14 days, he needs to eat soft food, with limited exercise. His antibiotics need to be given twice a day for seven days. I have to look for bleeding, vomiting and making sure he poops! If he doesn’t poop for 24-48 hours after surgery is ok, any longer than we have a problem.

When I picked him up, he was in the receptionist’s arms. Most people would be mad, but honestly, they were giving him love and making sure that he was ok. They were all shocked that he bounced back, but wanted to keep a close eye on him. All of them were giving him kisses and holding him they also tried to do his hair. This is another reason why I absolutely LOVE our vet because they go above and beyond for their patients.

DOGtober 2017: Day 9

Today starts Tarzans Pre-Surgical care. Tomorrow, Tarzan will get his teeth cleaned so his vet gave me instructions to prepare him for what he is going to endure tomorrow. The first thing to prepare him happened on Saturday where we did blood work to make sure that he was able to handle the anesthesia once that was cleared we made the appointment.

Tonight’s pre-surgical care includes:

  • No food after 9pm
  • Water can be given up until drop off
  • Drop off between 7am-8:30am, the day of
  • Leave a phone number and around 2pm you’ll receive a call and release time

Although I am completely freaking out on the inside about him getting the anesthesia because this is my baby and it’s scary but I completely trust my vets. They have been with my pups since the day I got my pups. They have seen them grow up, they have taken care of them so they know what their medical history. My littles are my life and no matter what, I am going to worry about them.

DOGtober 2017: Day 8

The pups and I had a lazy Sunday…kind of. Although we didn’t leave the house, we did set up some more Halloween decorations and of course a Halloween movie marathon. We were also invited to my baby cousins The Nightmare Before Christmas Birthday party, so in the spirit of Halloween, we also made some Oogie Boogie party favors that are stuffed with candy!

We may not have done too much it was a lot of fun just lounging around the house with my two littles.

DOGtober 2017: Day 7

Vet Day! Today the pups and I had a fun adventure to set up a teeth cleaning for Tarzan. I’m not excited about the anesthesia, but I know it’ll be good for him to get his teeth professionally cleaned.

Unfortunately, my cleaning wasn’t enough. His breathe was getting pretty bad and before any harm or discomfort came to him I wanted to get them cleaned by our vet who I trust. Have you gotten your pups teeth professional cleaned before?? What was it like for you?

DOGtober 2017: Day 6

Today was a fun day, we went to visit grandma in her new house. The pups and I were also responsible in decorating the front of her house. I think we did a pretty good job, but the job is not done!

We love Halloween, it’s one of our favorite times of year!

DOGtober 2017: Day 5

Today was a day of rest and relaxation due to my momgoing into emergency surgery. We laid around watching my moms favorite shows and movies while doing homework.

Lazy Thursday!
