DIY-Puppy-Pancakes-Pretty-Fluffy

What You’ll Need:

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 C milk
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 Tablespoon honey
  • 1 C wholemeal flour
  • 1/2 C coconut flour (or whatever flour you would like)
  • 1 Tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon

pancake-mix-1024x683

What To Do:

  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, honey, and butter
  2. Mix in the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients until you are left with a thick pancake mix
  3. Heat up a pan (I grease with coconut oil) and place the batter inside a heart shaped cookie cutter
  4. Wait about 1-2 minutes until bubbles form and flip
  5. place it in your pups bowl and serve!

Helpful Hints:

  • The batter makes about 10-12 pancakes depending on the size
  • Use a stainless steal cookie cutter and grease both sides
  • If you only have a plastic cookie cutter make a normal round pancake and cut out a heart chape
  • The “syrup” is s drizzle of pineapple juice over their pancake

Happy Valentines Day!

Essential Oils: Day 1

I am so excited that the essential oils came for the pups. I bought the Pain Relief and Calming because both my littles have arthritis. Belle has it in her right shoulder and Tarzan has it in his back legs.

The oils came just in time for their dinner, so I added a drop of the pain relief to both their dinner. I am paranoid whenever I change anything with my pups, so I am making it a point to look out for any signs that the oils are not sitting well with them. Honestly, I am hoping this works and makes their daily life a little bit easier.

Since it is the first day I know I won’t see any difference with them, but of course, I will keep tabs on how they are acting and following any reactions or differences I see in them. Have you tried any essential oils with your fur babies?

Dog Essential Oils?

Did you know that Dogs had essential oils? Me either, until I cam across Healthy Paws Herbal. I read a lot of good reviews about them and I LOVE essential oils myself so I figure why not buy some for the pups.

Healthy Paws Herbal offers three different essential oils: Allergy Itch Relief, Pain Relief, and Calming. They have two prices 1oz bottle is $14.99 and the 4oz bottle is $39.99. It is pretty pricey but so are the essential oils when you buy them for yourself.

Since Tarzan has arthritis in his back legs and Belle has it in her left shoulder I definitely knew that I was going to try out the Pain Relief. Angelicae, Gentianae Marco, Saposhnikoviae are all anti-inflammatory and analgesic to reduce pain and help healing. Eucommiae, Taxilli, and Cyathulae, help strengthen bones, muscles and joints to help slow down degeneration. It has so many great natural qualities that I hope will help ease the pain they do have. Im hoping it gets here soon so I can try it!

Puppy Haul!!

So my little man had gotten dental work where he was left with only 5 teeth. Unfortunately, my little one’s gum is a bit sensitive, so eating has been a bit of a complication and hard work to get his food just right for him to eat. So here is what I bought him to make his food a little bit more appealing and softer for his gums.

SweetPotatoes_.jpg

GERBER:

  • Apple blueberry
  • Banana
  • Pumpkin banana
  • Sweet potato

Pineapple.jpg

Pineapple Juice:

  • 100% pure pineapple juice

Broth:

  • Chicken
  • Beef

I am still in the trial and error stage for him, so some meals he LOVES and others not so much. Usually, I soften up his food, add some pineapple juice, and one of the Gerber foods along with some broth on top. It works out for the most part, and he chomps it right up with no problem. I hope it continues well because I now have a TON of dog food in my house.

Winter Morning Routine: Puppy Edition

Winter is my all time favorite season, because its snuggle weather. This is how the pups and I get ready in the morning!

The alarm goes off at 5:45am. Im the first one up and immediately start the pups food and turn on the heater. I put water in the microwave for about 1min and 30sec than pour it over their food. In that time I do the pups hair, once their food is done they get to eat.

Once they are done eating, they go outside to do their business while I clean their water bowl and fill it up with fresh water and change their pee pad incase they used it. When they have finished outside, they come in and get their teeth brushed.

We than snuggle from about 6:30-6:45, the heater goes off and i’m off to work. This is the hardest part of my day is not snuggling with them the entire day. What are some of your favorite things you do with your pups in the morning during winter?

DOGtober 2017: Day 18

Today we went for a nice walk around the block, slow and steady for the little chub Tarzan. Honestly, he is doing great and has recovered perfectly, but I’m still following the vets orders and he’s not allowed a ton of excercise and hard food until the 14 days are up.

His gums look amazing and his sister is all about being his little shadow again which I love because they are the cutest. The pups and I also did more 13 Nights of Halloween things because tomorrow is the start of DIY’s, recipes and fun fact about this spooktacular season! Thanks for joining us for our first ever DOGtober and we hope to you continue to follow us during 13 Nights!

DOGtober 2017: Day 17

Today the pups and I made a bow, and than laid on the couch and watched TV. We have been running around with our heads cut off all this morning so I thought it would be a good time to sit and take a breather before we get back into the swing of things tomorrow.

Tarzan’s gums looks great! They aren’t swollen and Belle is back cuddling with her brother and it fills my heart.

DOGtober 2017: Day 16

Today was a crazy day for the pups and I! Since we are only three days away from 13 Nights of Halloween, we were doing a lot more preparations for those up coming blogs!

Tarzan is still recovering beautifully, unfortunately he really hates his liquified food and just wants to eat his sister but he has one more week of it. He did however like the pumpkin spice pupcakes I made tonight which we will be posting up the recipes in a couple more days. I honestly can’t wait to show you all the crafts the pups and I have been working on!

DOGtober 2017: Day 15

Today was a very active Sunday, to be honest, I rarely get a Sunday Funday of just relaxing around the house. But the puppers and I had a lot of work that needed to be done today. The first thing we did was go to Michaels and Target, then proceeded to go take our Nani to the grocery store, so the littles stayed home. Once I got back, we cleaned and prepped everything for 13 nights of Halloween.

We went for a small walk down to the end of the block and back to stretch our legs and get some fresh air. Then proceded to clean the house and grind up more food for Tarzan so he can eat. He was given his antibiotics, and we took some spooktacular pictures, and now we are off to bed after a very eventful day.
