13 Nights of Halloween: Haunted Mansion

It wouldn’t be Halloween without some spooky facts about The Haunted Mansion, so here we go!

  1. The Haunted Mansion is the only attraction located in four different lands in four different Disney parks: New Orleans Square at Disneyland, Liberty Square at Walt Disney World, Fantasyland at Tokyo Disneyland and Frontierland at Disneyland Paris.
  2. Disney legend Claude Coats briefly developed a water version of the Haunted Mansion which guests would float through the ruins of an old plantation house, partially submerged in a Louisiana Bayou.
  3. Imagineers produced the audio-animatronics figures, props and set pieces for both Disneyland and Walt Disney World versions of the Haunted Mansion at the same time, knowing that the Florida attraction would open less than two years after its Anaheim predecessor.
  4. The Ghost Host was originally supposed to take the form of a crow, which was tossed out but you can still find the crow throughout the ride (Disneyland). Paul Frees, the voice of the Ghost Host also provided the voices for Ludwig von Drake, Boris Dadonov, the Pillsbury Doughboy and many of the POTC including the infamous auctioneer.
  5. The infamous mansion wallpaper was created by Imagineer Marc Davis. It was a collaboration between “Museum of the Weird” creator Rolly Crump and Claude Coats.

What is your favorite part about the Haunted Mansion? mine would have to be Haunted Mansion Holiday, it’s my favorite time to ride this amazing and spooky attraction!

13 Nights of Halloween: Disneyland Haul

This trip was well needed. Although it was a quick trip, it felt so long, magical and perfect! The only thing I wanted to do was spend all of my money and ride Haunted Mansion Holiday which I did. So here is everything I bought! I was so excited to get the glow cubes and nearly had a heart attack from the poison apple glow cube because EVERYONE  said it they ran out thankfully the Mint Julep bar and the Red Rose Tavern had some and I was able to collect it!

Aside from the clothes above, I also bought a t-shirt from Mickey’s Halloween Party 2017 and a hat that says ‘Ghost Host’ on the front, and I adore them so much I had them both on and forgot to take a picture of them…What are some things you like collecting when you visit the parks? Let me know in the comments below!

13 Nights of Halloween: Disneyland?!

It’s time to hang up my adulting jacket and trade it in for my AP, which has been sitting nicely in my wallet collecting cobwebs.  If you haven’t guessed it, I booked a last minute trip to the one and only happiest place on earth Disneyland! All this school and homework is slowly nipping away at me, so why not pull out the old AP and take a spontaneous trip to Disneyland…it’s reasonable! So here are my top 5 things I can’t wait to get my hands on or do when I get there!

1.Glow Things

I am obsessed with glowy stuff, so I can’t wait to get a cars jack-o-lantern, the headless horseman straw clip, and the poison apple!

2.Buckets, Pins, and Steins! Oh MY!

Oogie Boogie is one of my favorite characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas so I am going to try and get his popcorn bucket. I also would love to pick up some Halloween party pin of the headless horseman and some Nightmare before Christmas surprise packs. I would also love to bring home the poison apple stein because I have been wanting it for years!

3.Shirts

I want to get my hands on some Halloween park merch, so some t-shirts. Also even though it’s not Christmas I really want one of the Christmas shirts they just released because I fell in love.

4.Food

You cant go to Disneyland without a long list of holiday foods to try and even though I am not feeling the best, Disney food is magical! I would like to get the Mummy Maccarone, CARacchnoid pot pie, dreamsicle beignets, slow burnin’ mac and cheese, and green apple spell lemonade boba.

5.Rides

Holiday overlay rides for me are a must, so I’m looking forward to Haunted Mansion Holiday, Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy, and of course GOTG: Monsters After Dark!

What is your favorite Holiday thing to do at the parks? Let me know in the comments below!

13 Nights of Halloween: PB & Pumpkin Dog Treats

These no-bake PB and pumpkin treats are a hit in my house with the littles. So let’s get started!

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • 2 1/2 C rolled oats
  • 3 Tbsp. honey
  • 1/2 C peanut butter
  • 1 C pumpkin
  • 1 Tsp. cinnamon

WHAT TO DO:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a bowl add PB, pumpkin, cinnamon, and honey: mix until combined.
  3. Add in the oats and continue to mix, if the consistency seems wet add a pinch more oats.
  4. Grab some batter and roll in a ball, placing it on your lined tray. Once your tray is filled place them in the fridge to harden.

These need to be stored in the fridge and can last up to 3 weeks or place them in the freezer, and they can last up to 3 months. These are so simple, and the pups enjoy it immensely. If you decide to make them, please let me know how your pup liked them in the comments below.

1. Halloweentown

This 1998 DCOM classic is and will ALWAYS be my top DCOM to watch. The film is about a girl finding out she is a witch and saves her town of creatures. It also stars the ever so amazing Debbie Reynolds.

13 Nights of Halloween: Hitchhiking Ghost

Nothing screams Halloween like ghosts, especially the hitchhiking ghosts from Disney’s Haunted Mansion especially when you create the eerie mason jar as a cute decoration to spook up your house.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Mason Jar
  • Metalic acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Hitchhiking ghost stencil
  • Artist maker pens (fine, medium & wide)
  • Washi tape
  • Scissors
  • Battery operated votive

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Crop the hitchhiking ghost stencil, fitting it to your mason jar. Place the stencil inside the jar securing it with tape.
  2. Using the artist pen, trace and outline the ghost, using your medium and wide pens to fill it in.
  3. Take your acrylic paint and paintbrush and paint the inside of the jar. I like to leave it patchy, so it looks eerier.
  4. After the paint dries place in the lights and BOO! You’re finished!

I think this is the perfect addition to my house, especially for Halloween! It’s really easy to make just a bit time to consume because you have to make sure everything is dry before moving on to the next step. If you try this at home, please let me know how they turned out in the comments below! I would love to see your creations!
