On this day in history, Walt Disney 5th park opened September 12, 2005. It over looks the water of Pennys Bay on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It’s home to Sleeping Beauty Castle which features computerized strobe light system, which creates a sparkling effect that makes the castle look even more magical at night.
There are three locomotives at Hong Kong Disneyland: Walter E. Disney, a tribute to the man himself: Roy O. Disney, a tribute to Walts brother and co-founder of the company and Frank G Wells who was the president of the Walt Disney Company from 1984-1994. It is also home to the largest Adventureland out of all the Magic Kingdom parks in the world.
Modeled after the classic English garden and the Tivoli garden in Denmark comes Fantasy Garden. The Cinderella Carasoul features paintings that tell the story of the Dinsey classic Cinderella. Space Mountain is 91 feet tall, while the tallest spire reaches 133 feet high.
My goal one day is to visit all the parks, and I am very excited to explore this Magic Kingdom. Happy Birthday Hong Kong Disneyland, I can’t wait to see what adventures I have with you.
